This lovely creature is the regal moth caterpillar, also known as the hickory horned devil (the crawlie, not dh LOL). It wandered out of the forest and up to our deck, scaring the dickens out of all who saw it.
No tacos were made. We released it near a sweetgum tree to eat and (hopefully) morph. :)
