Please enjoy nice all-American Christmas

During an impromptu trip to a Chinese embas-, I mean, Hobby Lobby this afternoon, the children got all squealhappy about Christmas ornaments. I told them to go ahead and choose a couple because the dogs will likely break some.

There were several cute ones: a leaping frog, a sparkly silver polar bear, some decent Santas. Then dee-aitch rounds the corner and says he's found the best ornament in the whole store. He presented this flying eagle:

Patriotic? Yes. Majestic? Indubitably. Forged from the sorry leftovers in Mr. Chen's Moose drawer? Most likely.

The Cat Club

A certain lovely lady of mine decided that she'd like to celebrate her ninth birthday with her storybook friend, Jenny Linskey, a shy cat from NYC whose has fun times with her feline friends. So that's just what we did.

Here is Pickles the Fire Cat.

Florio came with his genuine chicken feather headdress.

Jenny looked grand in her ubiquitous red scarf...

...and on my favorite chocolate cake.

Happy birthday!
(Props to M-mv for inspiring the Jenny Linskey theme!)

Boo!

Talk of scary things arose today on a certain forum that I frequent. It seems that a few folks whom I simply adore have qualms about various legless creatures. I decided, therefore, to show off some crawly critters from my neck o' the woods in the name of animal appreciation. Enjoy, ladies!
